1. Who We Are
LastWhen is developed and published by U14 Labs LLP, a registered limited liability partnership based in Chennai, India. If you have any questions about this policy, contact us at hello@lastwhen.com.
2. Data We Do Not Collect
LastWhen does not collect, transmit, or store any of the following:
- Your name, email address, or any contact information
- Your location
- Your device identifiers or advertising IDs
- Usage analytics or behavioural tracking data
- Crash reports sent to any third-party service
- Any data from your event logs, notes, or history
We have no backend database. We have no user accounts. There is no server that receives your data.
3. Data Stored on Your Device
All data you enter into LastWhen — events, log entries, notes, settings — is stored locally on your device using SQLite. This data never leaves your device unless you explicitly export a backup.
This includes:
- Event names and categories you create
- Log entries and dates you record
- Optional notes you attach to entries
- App settings and preferences
- Your Pro unlock status
You can delete all of this data at any time by uninstalling the app.
4. Backup Data
LastWhen offers two optional backup features. Both are entirely in your control.
Save to Files
Writes a .json backup file to a folder on your device that you choose. This file stays on your device. LastWhen does not upload it anywhere. If you then move this file to Google Drive, iCloud, or any other service, that transfer is governed by those services' privacy policies — not ours.
Export Backup
Opens your device's share sheet, allowing you to send the backup file to any app or service you choose. LastWhen does not control or monitor where you send this file.
Backup files are plain JSON — you can read, inspect, or delete them at any time.
5. Remote Configuration
On every launch, LastWhen fetches a small configuration file from our servers. This file contains:
- An optional announcement message to display in the app
- The current early adopter purchase count (to determine pricing)
- A minimum app version indicator
- A maintenance mode flag
This fetch is one-way — the app reads the file but sends no data to our server in the process. No device identifiers, no user data, and no analytics are transmitted. If the fetch fails, the app continues working normally offline.
6. In-App Purchases
LastWhen offers a one-time Pro upgrade purchase. This transaction is handled entirely by Google Play (Android) or the App Store (iOS). U14 Labs does not process payment information directly and does not receive your payment card details.
Purchase records are managed by the respective app store. Please refer to Google's or Apple's privacy policies for how they handle payment and purchase data.
We store only a local flag on your device to indicate whether Pro has been unlocked. This flag is not linked to your identity in any way.
7. Notifications
If you grant notification permission, LastWhen schedules local notifications on your device for reminders and streak milestones. These notifications are generated and delivered entirely on-device using your operating system's notification system. No notification data is sent to any server.
8. Children's Privacy
LastWhen does not knowingly collect any data from anyone, including children under the age of 13. Since we collect no personal data at all, the app is safe for use by anyone.
9. Third-Party Services
LastWhen does not integrate with any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs in its current version. The only external network request the app makes is fetching a configuration file from our servers on launch, as described in Section 5.
Future versions of the app may introduce optional features (such as cloud sync) that involve third-party services. Any such changes will be reflected in an updated privacy policy before the feature ships.
10. Your Rights
Since all your data is stored locally on your device, you have full control over it at all times:
- Access — open the app to see all your data
- Export — use the backup feature to export your data as a .json file
- Delete — uninstall the app to remove all data from your device
- Portability — your backup file is plain JSON and can be read by any text editor
There is no account to delete and no server-side data to request removal of.
11. Data Security
Your data is protected by your device's built-in security — screen lock, device encryption, and app sandboxing provided by Android and iOS. We do not have access to your device or your data.
12. Changes to This Policy
If we make material changes to this privacy policy, we will update the effective date at the top and notify users via the in-app announcement banner. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
The latest version of this policy is always available at lastwhen.com/privacy.
